Art Insitute of Chicago – Modern Wing
During this project, Continental completed the Art Institute’s Modern Wing, taking the building out of the ground and completing the interior space. The building was designed to connect the current museum campus with Millenium Park through Griffin Court. This new court serves as the heart of the new addition and connects the campus to educational facilities, public amenities, galleries, and a garden. On the second & third floors, space is dedicated to various galleries for viewing art. Space below street level was designed for mechanical rooms, art storage, and support facilities for the Art Institute. This project was completed in 2009.
